The City of Garden City is Seeking Applicants for the Planning & Zoning Commission
The Planning & Zoning Commission serves as the primary review body for development and growth within Garden City. Commissioners evaluate a wide range of land-use and zoning matters, including subdivisions, planned-unit developments, conditional-use permits, zoning changes, and proposed updates to the city’s Comprehensive Plan and zoning ordinance.
Key Details:
- Term: 3 years
- Meetings: Every third Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
- Compensation: Volunteer position (unpaid)
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Residency or business ownership in Garden City for at least two years
- Interest in planning and land use
- Familiarity with:
- Garden City Comprehensive Plan
- Local Land Use Planning Act (Idaho Code § 67-65)
- Title 8 of the Garden City Code
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely
- Strong listening skills and objectivity
- Commitment to attend scheduled meetings, to fairly and consistently apply code, and to make a sound record.
