How to Attend a Meeting Virtually

*Check ahead to see if the meeting will be held virtually; Note: even if there is virtual access the official meeting is in person. Public testimony may not be allowed virtually.  The meeting may continue if there are technical difficulties.

Some helpful hints for participating in a virtual public meeting:

  1. Join the meeting 15 minutes early to allow time for any installation and setup that is required.  This will also give us the opportunity to make sure that we can hear you and that you can hear us. If you cannot hear us or we cannot hear you, we will ask you to call in (you can still view the meeting on Zoom).
  2. Turn on your webcam if available to make communication easier.
  3. Earphones for your devices (computer, phone, etc.) are very helpful.
  4. If you do not have earphones, try to distance yourself from other devices to reduce microphone feedback.
  5. If virtual testimony is allowed, and you wish to speak:
    1. Wait to speak until called upon.
    2. Use audio/mic through computer or phone, but not both.  If you use your computer for video and your phone for audio/mic, ensure that audio/mic is turned off on your computer.
    3. Do not use a speakerphone (to reduce echo and reverberation).
    4. Please make sure you are un-muted as a participant.  We will keep you muted on our end unless you are a part of the deciding board or speaking.
    5. Make sure that you are signed in with both your first and last name spelled out.
    6. State your name before you speak.

If you do not have a microphone, speakers, or we are having issues hearing each other, please call in.

  1. Call (301) 715-8592
  2. The meeting ID is: 8188588340
  3. You will be on the conference call.  Please mute yourself except when you are not speaking as you will be on speakerphone.

Please be patient if there are technical difficulties.
