Early Assistance Forms:
- Assistance Request Form: Request that Garden City staff answer basic zoning questions by phone or email.
- Due Diligence Initial Discussion Request: Request an initial Due Diligence Meeting with a Garden City Planner to go over development ideas & questions.
- Public Information Request Form: Request release of public records held by Garden City.
- Appeal Dangerous Building Application
- Building Permit Application - Residential: for residential new construction, addition, remodel, re-roof, and/or other projects that require a building permit.
**For residential work that does NOT require a permit, reference Garden City Municipal Code 7-2-3 F. Section R105.2, Work Exempt From Permit. - Building Permit Application - Non-Residential: for non-residential new construction, addition, remodel, re-roof, and/or other projects that require a building permit.
**For non-residential work that does NOT require a permit, reference Garden City Municipal Code 7-2-2 I. Section 105.2, Work Exempt From Permit. - Building Permit Application - Temporary Structure: for proposed temporary structures that are not exempt from building permit requirements.
- Building Code Alternative Request: Request of alternative building method that is equally as safe as code requirements, but not expressly identified by the building code as a method
- Building Demolition Permit Application: required for any removal of building structures, land disturbing activity (Title 4 Chapter 15)
**Must be accompanied with a General Erosion and Sediment Control Application. - Business Compliance Application (BUS): for new or changing business
- Certificate of Occupancy Request Form
- Design Professional Building Plans Certification Form - A Design Professional is required to complete this form at the time of submittal for Building Permits. This is required of projects that have been approved through Design Review, Planning and Zoning and/or City Council hearings.
- Extension Request Form
- Flood Risk Acknowledgement: (user guide) required with applications for properties that are currently in the anticipated flood plain and are not building to the anticipated base flood elevation. The applicant/property owner is responsible for getting the original copy to the City.
- Floodplain Engineer Report - (user guide) required if building in the anticipated Floodplain and are building at or above the anticipated base flood elevation.

- Floodplain Permit for Accessory Structures, Recreational Vehicles, & Fences
- Manufactured Home Installation Permit Application: required for installation of a manufactured home in Garden City.
- Manufactured Home Removal/Demo Permit Application: required for removal or demolition of a manufactured home in Garden City.
- Manufactured Home Safety Checklist (required for installs): required to be completed and submitted for manufactured home installations prior to issuance of a final certificate.
- Commercial Occupancy Analysis Application: required for issuance of a Certificate for new businesses which will be occupying a building in Garden City, provided no structural changes or change in occupancy type will be taking place.
