PURSUANT TO ESTABLISHED PROCEDURE, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that there will be a public (neighborhood) meeting held, Wednesday March 16, 2022 from 5:00-6:00 pm to discuss proposed changes to: CPAFY2022-0002 GCC 8-4HI-5, Changes to Flood Hazard Ordinance.  There are three changes proposed, each to clarify language. The city of Garden City is proposing that the city code be amended to modify the Design Review application process and replaces the Design Review Committee with a Design Review Consultant. The purpose of these amendments is to simplify the Design Review process.  The changes will include, but not be limited to changes to Garden City Code 8-2C, 8-4B, 8-4F, 8-6A-2, 8-6A-3, 8-6A-4, 8-6A-5, 8-6A-6, 8-6A-7, 8-6A-9, 8-6B-3, 8-6B-5, 8-6B-8, 8-6A-2.

CPAFY2022-0004- Code Text Amendment- ADU-Approved

The city of Garden City is proposing to amend Title 8 ("Development Code"), Chapter 2 ("Base Zoning District Regulations"), Article C ("Land Use Provisions"), Section 14 ("Dwelling Unit, Accessory"), and Chapter 7 ("References"), Article A ("Definitions"), Section 2 ("Definitions of Terms") of the Garden City Code. The goal of the ordinance is to modify the standards for accessory dwelling units (ADUs) by requiring compatibility with main structures, removing maximum size restrictions, and disallowing mobile homes not declared real property as accessory dwelling units.

CPAFY2022-0005 - Code Text Amendment- Live-Work-Create- Repealed & Design Review Findings- Approved

Garden City code, Title 8, specifically 8-3C, 8-6B-3(D), and 8-7A-2 will be modified to clarify definitions and requirements of certain portions of the code pertaining to the Surel Mitchell Work- Live- Create overlay district standards, definitions and design review findings.  The draft memorandum and ordinance(s) are preliminary and subject to change.

CPAFY2022-0010 - Code Text Amendment - Small Cell Approved

The city of Garden City is proposing that the city code be amended to incorporate Small Cell installation. The purpose of these amendments will be to create a process for providers to gain permission for Small Cell installation and to design Small Cell structures that are cohesive with the surrounding area, conform to Garden City Code, and align with the purpose of Garden City’s Comprehensive Plan. The changes will include, but not be limited to, changes to Garden City Code 8-2B-2, 8-6A-2, 8-6A-4, and 8-7A-1, and the addition of 8-2C-49.
