Located in the Treasure Valley and "Nestled by the River", the City of Garden City, Idaho celebrated its 75th birthday in 2024.

Our 4.2 square miles are surrounded by the City of Boise on the north, east, and south and the City of Eagle on the west, with a nighttime population of almost 13,000, and a daytime population of over 110,000. The city's namesake, as well as the name of the city's thoroughfare (Chinden Boulevard), comes from the former Chinese Gardens that fed miners in the early 19th century. Garden City has a vibrant arts scene within our Surel Mitchell Live-Work-Create District whose members also organize a First Friday event every other month celebrating Garden City artisans. Garden City is going through a revival with new mixed-use development along the Boise River. Garden City is centrally located near the state capital of Boise, 30 minutes from Bogus Basin ski and mountain recreation area, a few minutes to hiking and biking on the beautiful Ridge to Rivers trail system in the foothills, and right outside your backdoor to fishing in the Boise River. The Greenbelt that spans the entire distance of the city connects on either end to form a regional asset for the entire Treasure Valley. A short drive west and you will find the Snake River Wine Region, on your way to the beautiful Pacific Coast. If you are wanting to remain closer to home, some of the most beautiful rugged wilderness and national parks can be experienced in all directions from the valley.
