Flood Services
The City of Garden City participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) under the guidelines of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) fema.gov. This program allows residents of our community to purchase flood insurance that is underwritten by the Federal Government. The City of Garden City also participates in the Community Rating System (CRS) program. The city has copies of Elevation Certificates, the Flood Insurance Rate maps, Flood Study Data and serves as a repository for all revisions to the maps.
*Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) Determination: A Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) is located in the lobby of City Hall and you can also stop by or call the Planning and Zoning Division for additional help. On the internet, the map can be accessed at Idaho Department of Water Resources.
*Elevation Certificates: The City has Elevation Certificates on file for the public to review. Copies are available at no charge to residents, insurance agents, real estate agents, mortgage lenders, etc... Elevation certificates are necessary for the purchase of flood insurance and are required prior to any construction in a flood hazard area.
