CPAFY2023-0001 - Code Text Amendment - Sureties -Approved

The city of Garden City is proposing to repeal Title 8, Chapter 5, Articles B, Section 7, of the Garden City Code. It adds Section 15 to Title 8, Chapter 6, Article A. The goal of the ordinance is to remove surety language which limits what a surety can apply to and the minimum amount of surety.

The city of Garden City is proposing to amend Title 7 ("Building Regulations"), Chapter 1 ("Purpose And Administration"), Section 5 (" Permit Time Limitation And Expiration"); Section 7 ("Permit Reactivation"); Title 8 ("Development Code"), Chapter 2 ("Base Zoning District Regulations"), Article C ("Land Use Provisions"), Section 33 ("Recreational Vehicle Park"); Chapter 4 ("Design And Development Regulations"), Article F ("Sign Provisions"), Section 4 ("Permit Required"); Chapter 5 ("Land Division Regulations"), Article B ("Subdivision Process"), Section 6 ("Term of Permits"); Chapter 6 ("Administration"), Article A ("General Provisions"), Section 8 ("Expirations Of Approvals") of the Garden City Code. This ordinance modifies criteria related to the permit extensions by providing a uniform time period for extensions on permits governed by the building regulations and development code. The purpose of this ordinance is to lengthen permit and permit extensions times in both Title 7 and Title 8 to make permitting processes more unified and usable. 

CPAFY2023-0003 - Code Text Amendments - Floodplain - Approved

CPAFY2023-0003 Floodplain amending the following sections of Garden City Code: 8-4H Flood Hazard.  The proposed amendments are to further increase the city of Garden City's compliance with applicable state and federal floodplain land use law and provide more clarity to existing provisions.

A Neighborhood Meeting will be held for initial feedback from the public on THURSDAY, July 11, 2024 in an open house setting from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A hearing with the Planning and Zoning Commission, the recommending body will be held: WEDNESDAY July 17, 2024,  at 6:30 pm

A hearing with the City Council for final determination will be held MONDAY July 22, 2024, with the City Council at 6:00 pm.
