CPAFY2024-0004 Buffers: Ordinance 1050-24;The purpose of the amendment is to refine current code’s provisions for buffers between uses, zoning districts, and the Boise River. Matters that are addressed include height, densities, setbacks, landscaping, fencing, structural design standards, and lighting. This amendment will create a new R-M residential medium density zoning district; and amends the allowed uses and definition of the R-3 zoning district. A new mixed use category of zoning districts has been created. This will include the current zoning districts of R-3, C-2, and M. Specific sections of code to be amended include Title 8 (“Development Code”), Chapter 2 (“Base Zoning District Regulations”), Article A (General Conditions), Section 1 (“Base Zoning Districts Established”), Article B (“Base Zoning District Provisions”), Section 1 (“Purpose”); Section 2 (“Allowed Uses”); Section 3 (“Form Standards”); Adding Section 4 (Mix Of Uses); Amending Article C, Section 27 (“Laundromat Self Service Cleaning”), Amending Chapter 4 (“Design And Development Regulations”), Article A (“General Provisions”), Section 3 (“Fences And Walls”); Section 4 (“Outdoor Lighting”); Article C (“Design Provisions For Nonresidential Structures”), Section 2 (“Applicability”); Section 3 (“General Provisions For Nonresidential Development”); Repealing Article H (“Flood Hazard”), Section 6 (“Riparian Zone”); Amending Article I (“Landscaping And Tree Protection Provisions”), Section 5 (“Perimeter Landscaping Provisions”); Section 6 (“Parking Lot Landscaping Provisions”); Adding Article M (“Boise River Natural Resource”); Amending Chapter 7 (“References”), Article A (“Definitions”), Section 2 (“Definitions Of Terms).
A Neighborhood Meeting will be held for initial feedback from the public on THURSDAY July 11, 2024 in an open house setting from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A hearing with the Planning and Zoning Commission, the recommending body initially scheduled for WEDNESDAY July 17, 2024, at 6:30 pm with a continuance requested to WEDNESDAY August 21, 2024, at 6:30 pm continued to WEDNESDAY October 16, 2024, at 6:30 pm
A hearing with the City Council for final determination initially scheduled for MONDAY August 12, 2024 with a potential corresponding continuance requested to MONDAY September 9, 2024, with the City Council at 6:00 pm. Continued to Tuesday November 12, 2024, with the City Council at 6:00 pm. Continued to Monday January 13, 2025, with the City Council at 6:00 pm. A third hearing will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025, with the City Council at 6:00 pm.
