Sign Permit Applications


Submit a complete application package to 
building@gardencityidaho.org.

PLEASE NOTE: We will not accept incomplete applications or applications that refer to materials in other applications.  


Sign Permit Application
Please allow up to 10 business days for a sign review to be completed. Once the sign review is approved, and the sign fees are paid, you will be contacted by email with the Sign Permit and instructions.  

How to Determine Fees:

Below is the Fee Schedule depending on the type and size of the sign.  

  • Freestanding, Hanging, Monument or Wall Non-Illuminated or Externally Illuminated Distinctive Materials: $57.50 + $0.13/sq. ft. surface area
  • Freestanding, Hanging, Monument or Wall Non-Illuminated or Externally Illuminated Non-Distinctive Materials: $157.50 + $0.26/sq. ft. surface area
  • Freestanding, Handing, Monument or Wall Internally Illuminated Distinctive Materials: $162.50 + $0.80/sq. ft. surface area
  • Freestanding, Hanging, Monument or Wall Internally Illuminated Non-Distinctive Materials: $262.50 + $1.90/sq. ft. surface area
  • Automated Sign (for automated portion of sign only): $300.00
  • Billboard: $106.00
  • Directional: $160.00
  • Promotional (Annual): $53.00 + $26.25/ amendment
  • Multi-Tenant or Master Sign Plan (not included as part of another Design Review application): $ 525.00

Completion of your Sign:

After your sign is erected, please call (208) 472-2921 or email building@gardencityidaho.org to schedule a sign inspection. Once the sign inspection is approved, you will be emailed a Certificate of Compliance.
